Unfortunately I have not had time rework my FX for FSX There are some timing issues that need to be changed for FSX. I am working on an upgrade for my LightFix which is designed for FSX and I promise I will have it finished and uploaded to the servers before I leave for for a trip in a few weeks. As for the rest of my FX, they work in FSX but because the sprite calls and timing are just bit different they do not work as well and some tend to kill frames. I think the last time I checked the touchdown vortice FX was OK for FSX.

Into your FSX 'Effects' folder. (It's probably there already, so look first). 2.) Copy and paste all of the [SMOKESYSTEM] info. Below into your KC-135R's 'aircraft.

It may need a minor tweak or 2 but it supplied a good effect in FSX without any technical issues like my other packages. Wow, you're 'THE Nick'? That's really cool.

I really like the effects in FS2004, and I just tried the touchdown one for FSX, and the touchdowns seem just like they do with the FSX touchdown, although they did improve from FS2004 to FSX. I haven't yet tried the light effect, but I look forward to trying it once you get it working for FSX. On the screenshot for your touchdown effects, I see a Southwest 747. Where did you find that? A young man whos father flys for southwest did a skin for the PMDG 747 in southwest livery. It only works for the PMDG 747 And I take back what I said about using my touchdown FX. They changed the FX textures in FSX to DXT5 and my package will overwrite the default FSX textures FX_1.bmp and FX_5.bmp Although they work, I need to make changes to mine so they match the FSX changes and do not cause problems.

I forgot about the extent of the texture changes in FSX. Until I upload a package for FSX, don't use my FX from FS9 unless you manually back up every file in the Effects and Texture folder to be sure you can revert back to default. Opppsssss I see you already installed it LOL Its OK, it should not be a problem but dont install any more. If for some strange reason you find you have issues trying to install the SP1 update, PM me and I will send you the 2 original FSX textures. Well, I backed-up the aircraft.cfg file before I tweaked it, and I just put it back after I realized the touchdown FX didn't work right with FSX.

Is everything now back to normal, or do I need to put the original textures back in? Did you unzip my package and install the textures? I would think you did if you installed the FX files from it In the EFFECTS folder there will be: fx_nicks_tchdwn_l.fx fx_nicks_tchdwn_m.fx fx_nicks_tchdwn_s.fx and the Texture folder, INSIDE the EFFECTS folder my package replaces. Fx_1.bmp fx_5.bmp and adds. Fx_rain.bmp If you do not have fx_rain.bmp in the Effects texture folder of FSX you probably did not install the textures If you do not see the 3 FX files I posted above in the main Effects folder -along with- fx_rain.bmp in the Effects texture folder, you did not install the package completely.

Just editing the aircraft.cfg file will not produce the effect. Its been a long time since I looked at it in FSX (last year) and I thought the vortex touchdown was the only one working in FSX. If it isnt, sorry but I need go though and update all that for FSX anyway If you did install the textures PM me with emaill address and I will send you the originals so you wont have any problems. Okay, well, I didn't do anything with a file called 'fx_rain.bmp ', so I think everything is fine. Adobe Photoshop Cs6 Zip File on this page. Thank you though, and I look forward to the light effects coming out later. Will you be doing the touchdown and jet exhaust effects over again for FSX? If you do not have the files in the locations I listed above then that would explain why the touchdown FX did not work.
