My yumbo had this problem as well. With the cover off on the side with the battery you will see what looks like a small amplifier with a white plug going into the top of it.

I simply took mine off (1 bolt at the base of it) and cleaned it up especially the ground wire under the bolt you loosen. Also try and clean up the plug and connections. Before you start riding again give the battery a trickle charge with a 2amp 12v battery charger. If this doesn't do it try tracing the ground wire from the battery to the frame and make sure it is good and clean; you can also find another good spot on the frame to ground it.
